The NBA has informed teams about updated timelines and safety provisions to take into account before the league restarts its 2019-20 season at Walt Disney World.

The following are the recently fine-tuned dates for the resumption of the NBA season:

Via Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium:

  • July 30-Aug. 14: Seeding games
  • Aug. 15-16: Play-in tournaments
  • Aug. 17: NBA Playoffs begin
  • Aug. 30: Family/guests of teams arrive
  • Aug. 31-Sept. 13: Conf. Semifinals
  • Sept. 15-Sept. 28: Conf. Finals
  • Sept. 30-Oct. 13: NBA Finals

Some of the timelines have been slightly adjusted. The NBA went from a proposed July 31 start to the season to a day earlier, which would allow broadcast partner TNT to get the restart premiere on the air instead of waiting a week for its initial broadcast.

The NBA also moved the proposed Oct. 12 date for a potential Game 7 of the NBA Finals to Oct. 13, which would avoid conflict with the NFL and Monday Night Football, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

There will be a training camp in Orlando from July 9-29, which can include up to three intersquad scrimmages.

The NBA also informed teams that starting Friday, up to two coaches or development personnel can work out with a player at the team’s practice facility. Once June 23 rolls around, the head coach will be allowed to supervise a player’s workout.

The NBA will also host its first round of coronavirus testing from June 23-30.

Players traveling from outside of the U.S. will need to report by June 15 to their market city, while the players who remained in their markets (as previously suggested) will arrive by June 22.

The NBA and NBPA are still hammering out the details of an offseason program of camps, scrimmages and optional team activities for the eight teams left out of the restart.
