The Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets game was headed for a blowout win in favor of the Mile High squad, but a dominant performance turned ugly late in the fourth quarter thanks to Nikola Jokic and Markieff Morris.

With a few minutes remaining and the Nuggets leading by 17, Jokic appeared to ward off a Heat player on a rebound and start the break. Heat forward Morris crashed into him at mid-court, which was already a bit of a malicious looking foul, but nothing too over the top.

Nikola Jokic took exception to that shove, and returned a strong shoulder into the back of Morris, sending him crashing to the ground. Morris stayed on the ground for a while, grabbing at his head, as Heat and Nuggets players on the court converged on Jokic — Heat players going after him, Nuggets players trying to defend him.

A stretcher was brought for Markieff Morris, who continued to stay on the ground for an extended period of time. Eventually, the Heat forward was able to stand on his own power and walk to the bench.

After reviewing the play, the officials decided that…

• Markieff Morris gets a flagrant foul 2 and would be ejected
• Nikola Jokic gets an unsportsmanlike technical foul and would be ejected
Jimmy Butler gets a technical foul

As both teams returned to their respective benches, Heat forward Jimmy Butler could be seen — and heard — yelling at Nikola Jokic to come to the back.

“Bring that sh*t,” Butler yelled. “Bring that sh*t! Bring yo ass to the back! Bring yo ass to the back! Let's go!”

While Denver went on to win the game, there's a good chance Nikola Jokic will be suspended. He could even be suspended for multiple games, but the NBA will likely take their time in deciding which punishment the 2020-21 NBA MVP will face.
