It still is the NBA offseason, so there is an ample amount of time for players to kick it on a Saturday and catch a college football game live. Just take for example the pair of Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook and Atlanta Hawks rookie Trae Young, who was spotted in Norman together during a Pac-12 vs. Big 12 showdown between the UCLA Bruins and the Oklahoma Sooners.

Russell Westbrook is a Bruins product, so even though he plays in Oklahoma City professionally, there was no way for him to show up in this game and don a Sooners jersey.

Young, meanwhile, opted to go for a Baker Mayfield Cleveland Browns jersey. Mayfield, like Young, was making Sooners nation last year with their fantastic play on the field and on the basketball court, respectively.

However, neither of them was able to guide their team to a national title, with Mayfield failing to guide Oklahoma to the national championship game (lost in the Rose Bowl), while Young and company were bounced right out of the Big Dance with a first-round loss to Rhode Island.

All that being said, Young definitely left Saturday’s game with a big smile, as the sixth-ranked Sooners earned an easy 49-21 win over UCLA.

Oklahoma quarterback Kyle Murray, who transferred from Texas A&M, completed 19 of 33 passes for 306 passing yards and three touchdowns without an interception and added 69 rushing yards and two scores on 10 carries.

Russell Westbrook can catch his Bruins again next week when UCLA hosts Fresno State. Will he make a bet with OKC teammate and former Bulldogs star Paul George?
