The NBA trade deadline on March 25 is fast approaching and while the focus is usually on teams that need upgrades to reach their goals, several teams need to trade their players away to either accelerate a rebuild or improve the salary cap situation.

Below are five teams that should be on the sell-side of the NBA trade deadline.

San Antonio Spurs

It is well-known at this point that LaMarcus Aldridge's time in San Antonio is up. It would be challenging to move a 35-year old whose play has drastically declined this season, but there might be teams interested in his skillset or at least having an expiring contract to help make future moves.

Another option is shipping off DeMar DeRozan at the NBA trade deadline. He's in a similar situation to Aldridge in that he is a veteran on an expiring contract. Even their cap hits are not too far off from one another. The big difference is that DeRozan has been playing really well this season and probably could have been an All-Star again. Teams that are in a win-now mode in need of an offensive threat should consider DeRozan.

The Spurs have many young promising talents, such as Dejounte Murray and Derrick White and the two veterans do not fit their timeline.

Cleveland Cavaliers

How many bigs does an NBA team need? Apparently, if you're the Cavs the answer is never enough. To say Cleveland has a frontcourt logjam is an understatement. They have Andre Drummond, Kevin Love, Javale McGee, Larry Nance, Jr., and Jarrett Allen.

Drummond is as good as gone. Love will be difficult to move with the amount of his contract and extensive injury-history. McGee is the easiest piece to move with his skillset and small contract. Nance is a solid player and should not be moving anywhere, while Allen is of course the best of the bunch and fits the timeline of their dynamic, young backcourt of Collin Sexton and Darius Garland.

Time will tell what happens at the NBA trade deadline.

Houston Rockets

The moment James Harden left for the Brooklyn Nets the Rockets have started the rebuild. Veteran P.J. Tucker is on the trade block and the front office has been actively discussing with other teams. Tucker can find his way to a contender. He is an interesting skillset, although he is short for a power forward and center, he is very strong and can switch onto different kinds of players. He also has a reliable outside shot, although he has not done his best work this season. A change in scenery might fix that.

The more interesting trade target is Victor Oladipo. He declined the extension offer from the Rockets, which indicates that he is available in the trade market. If he can regain some of his All-Star form and stay healthy, he can be the difference between a championship and a runner-up finish.

We'll see what happens at the NBA trade deadline.

Oklahoma City Thunder

The Thunder are a young team, headlined by Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, but they still have veterans Al Horford, George Hill, and Trevor Ariza. Yes, Ariza is still in the league. Oklahoma City is going young and these seasoned players would be better off with contenders.

Horford's the best player of the bunch, but the duration and amount of his contract make it difficult to find a trade partner. If the Thunder does move him, they would have to give up some of their treasure trove of draft picks.

The easier option here is Hill. He is a savvy point guard with a historically reliable outside shot and contributes all around. Hill can provide a boost to most second units. Ariza is on an expiring contract, which could appeal to some teams. In terms of on-court value, his upside is very limited.

Moving Horford and Hill would free up consistent minutes for the likes of Isaiah Roby and Theo Maledon.

Orlando Magic

With the salaries being paid to Magic players, one would think they were contenders. In terms of contracts, they are in the same league as the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Milwaukee Bucks. For all the money the team has spent, the only All-Star they have to show is Nikola Vučević, who the team has no plans of trading. Vučević trade rumors are an annual tradition at this point, as he fits the profile of an All-Star on a team that's been mediocre.

Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier are the biggest names that could be traded. Gordon is a hyper-athletic forward, who can defend multiple positions and was used in a playmaking role. He should thrive in a squad with a lot of spacing. Fournier provides instant offense and could hit a shot from anywhere. Both players have affordable salaries but have extensive injury histories.
