The New Orleans Pelicans' interest in trading for Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal is one of the biggst open secrets around the NBA, according to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer.

The price for Beal would likely start at the haul the Pelicans received for Jrue Holiday from the Milwaukee Bucks. Given all the draft capital New Orleans got from that deal and the Anthony Davis trade, plus tradable players currently on the roster, the franchise has the flexibility to make quite the offer for Beal's services.

As of right now, though, the Wizards don't seem to have any interest in a Bradley Beal trade. Beal himself also hasn't asked for a deal and seems content with the team, even despite a 4-12 start and plenty of frustrating losses.

Despite the reports saying Beal isn’t on the table, there are still plenty of rumbling about teams preparing trade packages. Considering what he brings to the table, it makes sense — especially for New Orleans.

The Pelicans are a disappointing 7-11 to start the season, and they've had their struggles on both sides of the court despite a talented roster led by Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram. 3-point shooting has been a problem for New Orleans to start this season, with questions about the roster construction surrounding the two young stars taking center stage.

Trading for Beal would solve many of the offensive issues, if not all of them. He is an elite shooter who can also pass the ball — meaning Williamson would still have someone who can set him up effectively.

Bradley Beal wouldn't solve the defensive problems, but his offensive prowess makes the Pelicans' thirst for him understandable. A Big Three of Beal, Zion and Ingram would be potent and a lot of fun to watch. New Orleans has the assets to make an attractive offer, so keep an eye on them if Washington ever makes Beal available.
