Chris Rock is the latest celebrity to pile onto the Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving and his stance on the COVID-19 vaccine.

During a show Wednesday in Brooklyn, Chris Rock posed the question to the crowd, “Where's my anti-vaxxer's at?” Once he got a reaction from the crowd, he responded by saying “You dumb Kyrie motherf#cker!”

Kyrie Irving spoke on Instagram Live where he announced his decision not to get the COVID-19 vaccine. He stated that he hopes to return and play for the Nets but he believes “this is about my life and what I am choosing to do.”

New York City has health mandates in place that prohibit the unvaccinated from large indoor gatherings. Clearly, a basketball arena with thousands of people falls into that category.

This was not what the Nets organization envisioned when they brought in Kyrie Irving to play alongside Kevin Durant and James Harden.

The NBA is set up for teams with superstars to win. People like to talk about “The Big 3” concept being a new thing started by LeBron James, or maybe Kevin Garnett when he joined the Boston Celtics. But the truth is, it goes way back before that.

The Celtics in the 1980s had their “Big 3” with Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parish. How about the “Showtime Lakers” with Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and James Worthy. The concept of putting some of the best talents in the sport together to win championships is nothing new.

The Brooklyn Nets' big three have barely seen the court together. Last season, the Nets failed to reach the conference finals and with the emergence of the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls, alongside the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks, without Kyrie Irving, it will be a challenge once again.
