Both Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets have been suspiciously mum about KD's current knee injury and as always, the team has been tight-lipped about any major update on their superstar's MCL sprain. Durant has now spoken out about his injury for the first time and it sounds like there is a little bit of a cause for concern here.

Addressing the press prior to the Nets' Saturday night matchup against the Miami Heat, Durant stated that his road to recovery has been “slow” (h/t Alex Schiffer of The Athletic):

Durant was not very concrete with his statement but still, this was much more informative than what he gave Ernie Johnson during the recently-concluded 2022 NBA All-Star Game Draft. The TNT host casually asked KD for an injury update, which the Nets star rejected outright.

Unfortunately, it remains unsure when Durant will be able to make his return for the Nets. His initial timetable indicated that he should be good to go by late February or early March and we just hope that the fact that his progress has been “slow” does not mean that his return date is going to be pushed back further. The Nets definitely need their superstar back at the soonest possible time.
