Right now, there's probably no other team out there that has been branded with the villain tag more than the Brooklyn Nets. The fact that they formed the superteam of superteams down in Brooklyn did not really sit well with most NBA supporters, and the fans have made their feelings known about it.

For his part, however, Nets superstar Kevin Durant isn't buying in on the whole villain persona. Some have likened Brooklyn to one of professional wrestling's most well-known clicks in the NWO, but in his mind, KD just doesn't see the similarities:

“I don’t,” Durant says, via Justin Barasso of SI. “It kind of looks that way, right? Our team wears all black and we kind of got three guys on the team that a lot of fans in the NBA don’t really like as much. It can seem that way, but I don’t think we take on that mentality. I think we come in and operate at a pretty smooth, easy, reserved level. We’re just very high-skilled guys, but I guess [from] the outside perception, it can seem that way. But for us, we just really enjoy to play every day.”

Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and X-Pac are some of the most prominent members of the iconic New World Order group. They took the wrestling world by storm a couple of decades ago, and they have since earned legendary status in the industry. Despite their esteemed stature, however, Durant just doesn't see his Nets as the NWO of the NBA.
