The Brooklyn Nets took care of business at home Tuesday night, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first NBA play-in game. With the win, the Nets clinch the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. They will play their first round series against the two-seed Boston Celtics. After the game, TNT analyst Charles Barkley shared a bold statement on television that will certainly draw some attention.

“They have no way they can beat the Celtics. They got two great players. They both actually probably played as good as they can play. Kevin Durant was fabulous with his passing and his defense. Kyrie was great… but other than that… I know they can't beat the Celtics now… all these fools on all these other morning talk shows can let this ship sail. Both of these guys played great and they barely beat a mediocre Cavs team.”

In the Nets defense, it was not a very close game for most of it. Brooklyn led 40-20 after the first quarter and never trailed from that point on. The Cavs would climb within six points a couple times in the fourth quarter. Each time, Durant would make a big play to extend the lead again, leaving Jay-Z with some funny faces in the front row.

Boston will undoubtedly be a challenge for the Nets. The Celtics will have home court. However, Boston will be without arguably their best defensive player in Robert Williams with an injury. If you listen carefully, you can already hear the boos toward Irving from the Celtics crowd. It should be a fun series to watch.
