Brooklyn Nets Sean Kilpatrick guard did not suit up against the Orlando Magic. Kilpatrick doesn’t have an injury. He missed the game because of a much more adorable reason: he just became a daddy.

While Kilpatrick hasn’t been deployed to the court in all of the Nets’ three games this season, he’s in very high spirits as he welcomes his daughter, Scarlett Rose, to the world.

Kilpatrick received a ton of congratulations for being a new father including his former college coach, Mick Cronin. Kilpatrick was one of the best players ever handled by Cronin, who coached him for four years at the University of Cincinnati.

Sean Kilpatrick went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft but has found a home with the Nets, who signed him to a three-year contract last year. Kilpatrick is currently behind Caris Levert on the Nets’ depth chart but coach Kenny Atkinson should soon insert Kilpatrick into the rotation given his scoring prowess. In 70 games played last season, Kilpatrick averaged 13.1 points and 4.0 rebounds.
