Brooklyn Nets young star Caris LeVert has been fantastic this season. In four games, he has averaged 21.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while averaging 31.0 minutes a game. LeVert has been a definite bright spot in the last two seasons for the struggling Nets.

In a Q&A with columnist Steve Serby of the New York Post, LeVert also noted that the Nets and their fans should be gaining more respect these days.

We’re a young team, we’re still fighting to get better every single day, but you can definitely be encouraged about the future, can be encouraged about the present, because I think in years past, a lot of people were kind of mocking Nets fans, and Nets players and things like that, but I think those days are over.

Originally drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the 2016 NBA Draft, LeVert remained positive despite his bouts with adversity. He plays with great confidence and the team often looks for him when the game is on the line.

When Serby asked LeVert about his confidence, the former Michigan Wolverines star stated “I would say throughout everything, my confidence never wavered.  Levert added,” I always knew what type of player that I was and that I was capable in the long run, kind of player I wanted to be.”

Caris Levert could very well be the star that Brooklyn has been missing. He possesses all of the mental qualities of a leader: confidence, resiliency, and selflessness. These qualities along with his talents on the court could be exactly what Brooklyn needs to get back into the playoffs.
