The Brooklyn Nets will face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night for a berth in the first round of the NBA Playoffs and a meeting with the Boston Celtics. If that does happen, we could see Ben Simmons make his debut as soon as games 3 or 4, according to Shams Charania.

Obviously, we're taking every report on Simmons' return with a grain of salt at this point. The Nets have refused to say he will play soon or not, but you'd have to believe the Aussie is getting pretty close to full strength. To be frank, Brooklyn needs him against the Celtics or Heat in order to actually get into the second round. Their defense is abysmal and although Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving can combine for 80+ points in a game, the entire rotation struggles to contain their opponents.

On the other hand, it's hard to know what Simmons will be like when he plays. After all, it's been almost a year since he last stepped on the court. There is no doubt his fit will be ideal with the Nets because of his ability to facilitate and find all these shooters open looks. But, Brooklyn will also have to ease his way into full-time minutes.

Nevertheless, it's an interesting update from Shams. Let's hope it could be true.
