The New England Patriots are set to take on the Indianapolis Colts in an interesting Week 15 matchup. The Patriots are coming into this one with a 9-4 card while the Colts are a competitive 7-6.

New England is arguably the hottest team in all of football, having won seven games in a row. The Patriots have a commanding two-game lead in the AFC East and this is going to be a big game for them in terms of the standings so they're going to have to come out and continue playing good football.

The Colts aren't going to be an easy team to beat as they have also found success. Unfortunately, they have not been able to stay healthy for a huge part of the year and have also lost some tough games that have kept them out of first place in the AFC South. They're coming off an impressive 31-0 win against the Houston Texans and almost beat reigning Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers a week prior, 38-31.

Every game from here on out is a must-win for the Patriots if they want to secure the conference. Mac Jones and company are going to have to play the best football moving forward.

Let's take a look at four bold predictions for the Patriots in their Week 15 contest against the Colts.

Patriots Week 15 Predictions

4. Mac Jones gets to throw the ball more and he succeeds

Coming into the season, there were many questions about why the Patriots decided to allow Jones to be the starting quarterback. But now, not only has he been more than serviceable, but he has been a great leader for the team. He has been a big reason for their 9-4 record.

In his rookie season, he has over 2,800 yards, 16 touchdowns, and has the 14th best QBR in all of football.

The Colts' defense has been able to play well for the majority of the season, but there have been weeks where it doesn't look great. Jones is going to take advantage of this as he's going to throw for over 250 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

3. The defense continues to be the best in football

There's no denying that what the Patriots have been able to do in their last five games is the most impressive in terms of any other defense in the NFL. The most points that they have given up in the past five games is only 13, in a game that they won 36-13. They've also had three out of five games holding teams to under 10 points. Not only were they able to play elite defense, but they also did it against some very good teams. The Patriots only gave up 10 points to the Buffalo Bills and seven points to a tough Cleveland Browns offense.

The Colts usually rely on their offense and if the Patriots want to win this game, they're going to have to continue playing defense as they have for the past five games. They are going to hold Jonathan Taylor to the least amount of yards that he's had all season. The Patriots' run defense has been one of the best all campaign long and that's going to show once again on Saturday as they take on arguably the best running back in the NFL.

2. Close game

This is bound to be a tougher game for the Patriots than most of their recent games. Their win against the Bills was certainly impressive but they walked away with easy victories prior to that. That shows just how good the Patriots have been, but it will not be this easy in Week 15 against the Colts.

The Colts are known for being a good football team and going into Indianapolis is never an easy task. Factor in that it's a Saturday game at 8:15 p.m., and it's going to be much harder for the Patriots due to the crowd and environment around them.

Jones and company, however, are still going to be able to walk away with a victory. The score is going to be close for most of the contest until the Patriots get a bit of a gap in the fourth quarter.

1. Patriots win by a touchdown

Since this game is going to be close for the entirety of it, the Patriots are going to only win by a touchdown. At the end of the day, a win is a win in any sport, but especially in the NFL. That's exactly what New England is going to be able to do on Saturday and coach Bill Belichick and his wards are going to move to 10-4 on the season and be in an even better position to win the AFC East.
