Amazon Games' upcoming MMORPG will still be arriving. As proof, Amazon Games just dropped New World‘s official trailer.

New World‘s brand new official trailer featured both narrative expositions, as well as a peek at the game's in-game engine. The two-minute video paints a vivid picture of the game many loyal fans have been waiting for since its announcement in 2016. Set in the mid-1600s, New World lets players colonize land modeled after a re-imagined colonial America.

Amazon Games confirmed that New World was still in development through a rare dev update video last February. This came after speculation and rumors that Amazon Games had trouble maintaining their game development activities. The newly released official trailer serves as proof that Amazon still wants to seriously pursue video game development. On New World, at the very least.

Still, Amazon Games has made considerable losses in their failed ventures in video games, which included canceled Breakaway and Crucible. Out of Amazon Games' three games in development announced way back in 2016, only this one remains an active project.

New World has since shared its development process over the past few months. The regular updates by Amazon Games helped flesh out the world that they are planning to build. These dev updates communicated their plans and progress to fans of the game very well. Meanwhile, video game journalists had a chance to test out the game for the first time way back in July 2020, through a Level 25 Expedition game demo.

New World releases on August 31, 2021, on PC.
