In the months leading into the 2020 NFL Draft, it appeared the Miami Dolphins selecting Tua Tagovailoa was a certainty. That no longer appears to be the case.

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the idea of the Dolphins drafting Tagovailoa is becoming more unlikely. In fact, if they do draft a quarterback, it looks like they'll go with Oregon's Justin Herbert.

“There’s been buzz that the Dolphins could pass on a quarterback altogether at No. 5, take an offensive tackle, and maybe take a swing on a Jordan Love later on. For now, I’m resisting the temptation to go all-in on that thought process. Oregon QB Justin Herbert makes sense here, particularly with the persistent whispers from other teams that Miami will not take Tua Tagovailoa.”

Tagovailoa has slipped on many teams' draft boards due to questions regarding his durability. However, he remains an enigma. While some teams are down on the prospects of the former National Champion, others remain high on him.

In fact, ESPN analyst and former NFL QB Trent Dilfer went on record as stating that Tua is the best prospect he's ever seen, which could make the decision much more interesting for the Dolphins.

“It’s all this stuff, you mix it together and I think he’s the single greatest prospect I’ve ever seen,” he told CBS Sports national writer and 247Sports director of scouting Barton Simmons recently in an expansive interview for 247Sports’ Social Distance series. “I know I’ve had some comments taken out of context, but he throws a football as well as I’ve seen a guy throw a football.”

Dilfer isn't the only Tua supporter; an NFL executive went so far to compare Tagovailoa to seven-time Pro Bowl QB Russell Wilson.

With all of this being said, it's clear the Dolphins need a franchise QB. In all likelihood, the team will likely target a quarterback with their top pick.

However, the question now becomes, will they even target Tua with their fifth overall pick?
