We are less than four months away from the XFL's comeback season, which is set to kick off on Feb. 8, 2020. With the league's inaugural draft just days away, NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens will not be apart of the leagues the pool of players available, per Mike Florio of NBC Sports.

“Hall of Fame receiver Terrell Owens periodically has been trying to get back to the NFL for the better part of a decade. He won’t be among the initial wave of players available to be drafted by XFL teams.”

The league will have some recognizable former NFL players such as former Pittsburgh Steelers backup Landry Jones and 2012's third overall pick Trent Richardson. The XFL has been trying its best to generate buzz around the league which is making its comeback almost 20 years after it was initially shut down in 2001 after just one season.

Rumors have circulated that even Antonio Brown might be linked to the league as well as Andrew Luck making a comeback and joining the league his father, Oliver Luck, is the CEO and commissioner of. Both scenarios seem highly unlikely given where each guy is at this point in his life and career.

Owens has been linked to many comeback attempts throughout the years, but the 45-year old seems like he is out of the game for good since last playing in the NFL in 2010. Per Mike Florio of NBC Sports, an initial report suggested that Owens might be apart of the draft pool but it was later clarified that he would not be a candidate eligible to draft.

While the XFL showed little success in its first go-around, one should never question the love Americans have for football and their willingness to watch anything with a ball.
