Former New York Giant and current Good Morning America co-anchor Michael Strahan is set to make a journey into space. Strahan's tip to space will be upon the invitation of Blue Origin and it's suboribtal “New Shepherd” launch vehicle. According to Strahan, he has been preparing for the journey these past two weeks—preparations that included testing out Blue Origin's flight seat, his own flight suit, while receiving input from former astronauts Dr. Nicholas Patrick. The flight into space is set to launch on December 9. Strahan's announcement and report is made available through 6abc.com.

In the report, Blue Origin's founder Jeff Bezos said:

“We need to be good at going to space, so that we can save the Earth. It's true that we've got tons of problems here on Earth, and we've got to deal with that in the here and now too. We need to be building reusable space vehicles so that future generations can build that vision.”

Strahan's preparations are still not over, as he will be heading down to Texas and the Blue Origin facility to tackle safety briefings and training, leading up to the December 9 launch. Strahan will not be alone on the flight, as he will be joined by Laura Shephard Churchley (daughter of former astronaut Alan Shepard, the first American to go to space), Dylan Taylor, Evan Dick, Lane Bess and Cameron Bess (the first parent and child to go to space).
