Richard Sherman has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL in the past decade, but he doesn't have much time left in the league. Ahead of his impending free agency, Sherman revealed how long he intends to play in the biggest stage.

“I only want to play two more,” Sherman told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith,  per Pro Football Talk. “I want to get on a competitive team. I think I still have a lot to give to the game. I think I still have a lot that I want to accomplish and I think I can go out there and help a defense come together like it should and reach their potential, reach the heights that the defenses that I’ve played on have reached.”

Richard Sherman finished his third season with the San Francisco 49ers in 2020 after a stellar career with the Seattle Seahawks from 2011 to 2017. After combining for 98 tackles, 15 pass breakups, and three interceptions in his first two years with the 49ers, Sherman played in only five games in the 2020 NFL campaign due to injury.

In those five games, Sherman contributed 18 tackles, one pass breakup and an interception. Despite his injury woes this season, Sherman is undoubtedly going to receive interest from NFL teams, which apparently includes the Las Vegas Raiders.

Sherman, who is set to turn 33 years old in March, believes he can still contribute to a contending NFL team and perform at a high level. Regardless of where he chooses to sign this offseason, Sherman is already making it known that he will be calling it a career after 2022.
