Why the Steelers Could Win

The Steelers are dead even this season. A win against Cleveland would be a huge step in the right direction for this team fighting to make playoffs. The Steelers are coming off back to back wins and that momentum could play a huge role in this game. Pittsburgh has been finding ways to come out ahead of close games. This battle with Cleveland will likely be close all the way through. If the Steelers can continue their streak of closing out close games then they could come out ahead on Sunday.

Two core pieces of the Steelers offense have been Najee Harris and Diontae Johnson. Harris has been a workhorse for Pittsburgh. He is starting to get over 20 touches a game and will be a big part of this game. If Harris can get going and help the Steelers establish a run game, then the rest of the offense will find success. Diontae Johnson has also been having a solid year. He has been an impact player for Pittsburgh and an offensive weapon they haven't shied away from using. Johnson and Harris are two pillars of the Steelers offense that will be crucial to this game.

The Steelers defense is also somehow underrated. They have managed to control the pace of their past two games and have been an important part of them winning games. Pittsburgh allows 350 yards of offense to opposing teams which is 13th best in the league. This defense isn't phenomenal, but if they can manage to limit a Browns offense that has been trending downward then the Steelers offense could run away with this one.

Why the Browns Could Win

The Browns have a winning record through seven games. They have been competitive with some tough opponents this season. Even with closes losses they have come out ahead enough to be looking towards the playoffs. Cleveland will need to book a win on Sunday to keep their playoff hopes alive. The lack of Baker Mayfield is a huge blow to this team, but it was a promising sight to see Case Keenum book a win last week. The Browns will try and carry that momentum into Week 8.

The most impressive part of this Browns team has been the defense. Cleveland ranks second in the league in yards allowed. Opposing teams have been limited to less than 300 yards a game. This is what has kept the Browns competitive through injuries. If the defense can keep doing what it has done all season then the Browns offense will have plenty of opportunity to capitalize.

Last week Cleveland had a running back crisis. Both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt were out due to injury. In their absence D'Ernest Johnson was more than capable of picking up the slack. The Browns did not hesitate to give Johnson the ball. He rushed 22 times for 146 yards and a touchdown. Both Chubb and Hunt are on pace for a return this week. Even if they can't play to their full ability the Browns should feel confident in their third option with Johnson. The Browns should be able to establish a running game which will provide Case Keenum with less pressure. The main questions for this game surround the Browns offense. If they can get going then this game should belong to Cleveland.

Final Steelers-Browns Prediction & Pick

This is going to be a close one. The line is close on this one for a reason. Steelers Browns games are usually competitive and this year it should be no different. The big factor in this pick is that choosing the Browns means choosing Case Keenum. Betting on Keenum is not a winning play. The Steelers have the offensive pieces needed to score the ball and if their defense can just contain Cleveland then they should be able to win. Pick the Steelers to cover this game and get ready for a nail biter.

FINAL STEELERS-BROWNS PREDICTION & PICK: Pittsburgh Steelers +4 (-110)
