The real tell here probably was the @Steelers making an offer to Justin Fields last March but not Russell Wilson. Obviously, Pittsburgh went in a different direction all together, but it was Fields they wanted to keep working with.

When Steelers leave a LB unblocked b/c the combo can't climb to 2nd level, that's not on the defense. When Fautanu doesn't get off the line in time and gets beat by the DT, that's not on the defense. Pittsburgh's run game issues are b/c they're making a dozen mistakes a game.

Tomlin blaming the defense/time of possession is a cop-out. You know what helps time of possession? Running the ball and staying on schedule. Pittsburgh's offense just isn't doing a good enough job.

To acclimate to the time zone change in Dublin, the Steelers moved Wed and Thurs practices to 11am, which is 4pm in Dublin. Team departs Thursday for Ireland after practice.

Mike Tomlin on team prepping for game in Ireland: "The physical work on this side of the trip is important for us. We're doing some things to acclimate ourselves to the trip. We're working early this week to start the body clock transition process. We certainly have some best practices in terms of acclimating ourselves once we begin the journey at the latter part of the week, but nothing unique there. A lot of organizations have been traveling internationally now for a number of years, and so some of those procedural things that put you in position to best perform are less mystical and really more best practices, the hydration factor, the sleep factor, and all of those things. We had a good admin meeting yesterday regarding some of that stuff so that we can get singularly focused on the football work, the prep work that's gonna be required to position ourselves to play winning football." #Steelers #NFL

We weren't getting off on third down, we ended up playing a lot of snaps. And so you can view it as an uptick in someone's participation. If we're getting off on third down, there might be less snaps and you might be asking me why we're not playing him. And so, I'd much rather you ask me that. He doesn't necessarily look like an outside linebacker, but he has an outside linebacker's game and he plays like one. And I think that's why you're able to get people sometimes a little bit later in the draft and maybe their tape would indicate, because they don't fit the quote unquote cookie cutter component of it. He's only played in two games, but certainly he has the potential for splash. That has been a component of his game since day zero. He's good in passing circumstances. He has a feel for the game.
