You can bet on the Pro Bowl? Yes, you can! The Pro Bowl will be taking place in Las Vegas on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel will coach the AFC. The AFC will be led by quarterback Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers. Herbert led the AFC in votes for quarterbacks over players like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. Mac Jones took Allen's place on the roster after he decided to golf instead. Herbert earned the starting position after throwing 38 touchdowns and over 5,000 passing yards in 2021-22. He and Tom Brady were the only two quarterbacks to surpass 5k yards this season.

The NFC will be coached by Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur. The NFC will also be led by quarterback Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings. Cousins was by far the most improved quarterback this season as he dominated the NFC in a ton of statistics. Cousins threw for 4,221 yards and 33 touchdowns. He threw only seven interceptions all season long and was one of the more accurate QBs this season. Cousins ended the season with a 103.1 passer rating which was 4th in the NFL. He is starting over Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray. Newly retired Tom Brady will not be playing in his final Pro Bowl appearance.

The AFC has won four straight years after a 38-33 win in the Pro Bowl two years ago. The Pro Bowl took a break last year during the covid-19 pandemic season. This should once again be an exciting Pro Bowl with a ton of talent in Vegas.

Why The AFC Could Cover The Spread

The reason the AFC is favored is not that they have won four-straight Pro Bowls, but rather because the NFC had a lot of dropouts. They have had to replace some starters that declined to play and they didn't even fill up their entire team. That doesn't mean the NFC is any worse, that just means the AFC is more prepared. The AFC is just stacked at the QB position. Herbert, Mahomes, and Jones are all elite QB's in the AFC and are all 26 and younger.

Herbert will likely play a majority of the first half if he wants, but won't be throwing to his favorite target Keenan Allen. Allen declined to play as he recovers from an injury. Instead, Herbie will be throwing to Tyreke Hill, Stefon Diggs, Diontae Johnson, Travis Kelce, and Mark Andrews. Ja'Marr Chase is not playing in this Pro bowl for obvious reasons. At the running back position, Jonathon Taylor will get the start after finishing a remarkable season. Nick Chubb and Najee Harris will serve as the two backups. The AFC run game will be intact with three elite rushers.

The defensive side of the ball is where the AFC should dominate the game. Darius Leonard, Myles Garrett, Max Crosby, TJ Watt, Joey Bosa, Chris Jones, Matt Judon, DeForest Buckner, and Cameron Hayward are all expected to play in the trenches. That is an unreal group of defenders who will make it very tough on the NFC. In the secondary, Derwin James Jr., Tyrann Mathieu, J.C Jackson, Xavien Howard, and Kevin Byard will all be playing to try and shut down Cousins and the NFC offense. The AFC defense is filled with elite talent and I think if they cover this spread, it will be because of how the defense played.

Why The NFC Could Cover The Spread

The NFC has some serious motivation in this game. It's been about five years since they have taken home the crown. Kirk Cousins will be starting but it's unclear how long he will play. Wilson and Murray will definitely be playing late in this game. With Murray's speed and ability to escape the pocket, he could be a good closer for the NFC in this game. Unless he goes second and Wilson goes third. Either way, the NFC will be set with three elite quarterbacks.

Cousins will be throwing to his favorite target Justin Jefferson, along with Deebo Samuel and Mike Evans. Cooper Kupp is busy preparing for the Super Bowl. His two tight ends are Kyle Pitts and George Kittle. Cousins doesn't have much to work with, so he will be throwing to his running backs often or just handing the ball off a majority of the time. His RB's include Dalvin Cook, James Conner, and Alvin Kamara. Those three are touchdown scoring machines and should help get the offense going. It's nice for Cousins knowing he has his star receiver and running back with him to take care of the AFC.

The NFC defense is also extremely stacked with talent. Starting in the trenches, Nick Bosa, Cameron Jordan, Jonathon Allen, Javon Hargrave, Vita Vea, Chandler Jones, Shaquil Barrett, Mikah Parsons, and Devin White will all be playing to try and take down the AFC. They will be going up against some tough downhill running backs. In the secondary, Trevon Diggs will be going head-to-head against his brother Stefon Diggs on the AFC. That will be a fun matchup to watch all game long. Darius Slay, Marshon Lattimore, Budda Baker, and Harrison Smith will join him to try and knock Herbert and the rest of the AFC QB's off their game.

Final AFC-NFC Prediction & Pick

This should once again be a very exciting Pro Bowl to watch. Justin Herbert is making his first appearance in the Pro Bowl and there is no better way to do so than to be starting for the entire conference. The AFC seems more prepared, take the AFC to cover this tiny spread and once again take home the bragging rights. Take the under as well as it shouldn't be too high-scoring.

Final AFC-NFC Prediction & Pick: AFC -1.5 (-105) & under: 62.5 (-110)
