Thursday night started off rough for Cam Newton and the New England Patriots as they visited the NFC West contenders the Los Angeles Rams. The visiting Pats trail the Rams in the opening half and things seemed to go from bad to worse early in the second quarter when Newton threw one of his worst interceptions of the season en route to a Kenny Young pick-6.

Check out the former MVP going full Carson Wentz on the play with an embarrassing miss:

Ouch. That's gotta hurt for Cam and the Wentz reference just makes things even worse for obvious reasons. The Philadelphia Eagles' QB has been one of the worst playmakers this season and has recently gone down to QB2 after weeks and weeks of unending struggles.
On second down, the Rams defense quickly closed out on Newton which gave him little to no choice to put up a desperation pass. Unfortunately for him, the ball fell perfectly in Young's arms and the linebacker had acres of space with virtually no one ahead of him. The play further pushed the Patriots down 17-0 as they continue to find answers to this highly-touted Rams defense.
New England looks to continue their mini-run and grab their third straight win on Week 14 against the Rams. But with how things are going early, the Patriots definitely have their work cut out for them as the Rams defense has been on point since kick off. Good thing is, there's still an eternity left in the game but Newton and the Patriots need to start putting some points in the scoreboard ASAP.
