Things aren't looking good for the Denver Nuggets after their third straight loss to the Golden State Warriors in their first-round series of the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Even a return home wasn't enough to get the Nuggets back into the winning column, and they are now staring elimination in the face against a Warriors team that's trying to stake its claim as the new championship favorite.

Despite that, Nuggets star Nikola Jokic isn't ready to admit defeat just yet. In fact, Jokic is feeling quite confident. The 2020-21 MVP made a stern statement after the Game 3 loss, as reported by Eurohoops:

“It’s not over,” Jokic told reporters after the game. “As long as we put the effort like we did today, we are going to be fine. They are a great team, but we showed ourselves that we can play with them and it can be a really interesting game.”

Jokic feels that the series is “not over” for the Nuggets, who he said showed that they can “play with the Warriors.” It's certainly true that the Nuggets, who lost each of the first two games by double digits, made a more valiant effort in Game 3.

However, a 3-0 lead is considered insurmountable for a reason, as no NBA team has ever completed a comeback after facing such a deficit. However, the 1994 Nuggets did tie a series after being down by three games, so the franchise certainly does have a blueprint when their backs are against the wall.

While it's good that Jokic is showing confidence in his team, a major Nuggets comeback against these Warriors just doesn't feel like it's in the cards.
