Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic had another monster game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, extending an incredible stretch that should definitely scare the hell out of other West playoff contenders.

Jokic finished with 38 points, 18 rebounds and six assists to lead the Nuggets over struggling Lakers. Even better, The Joker shot an efficient 15-of-22 from the field, all while adding three steals and two blocks. The only flaw in his game was his seven turnovers, but he certainly more than made up for it with his performance.

With his latest performance, though, Jokic has now scored 232 points on 70.6 percent shooting in his last seven games. According to Justin Kubatko of Basketball Reference, no player in NBA history has achieved such feat before the Nuggets superstar.

Nikola Jokic is carrying the Nuggets in the absence of Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. He got some help from Aaron Gordon and Will Barton, as well as from the rest of the Denver roster. However, the Serbian big man has been the focal point that keeps the team functioning.

Without Jokic, the Nuggets would've probably already collapsed given their injury and roster woes.

This also comes as good news for both Jokic and Denver. For the All-Star big man, he is just solidifying his case as the true MVP of the season despite tough competition from the likes of Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

For the Nuggets, it seems like their All-Star center is peaking at the right time. With Murray and MPJ's return still uncertain, they will need their iron-man to be at his absolute best come the postseason. And by the looks of it, he is already at that level.

Of course that is a development that the rest of the West  should bewary of. The last thing they want is to face an unstoppable beast in the postseason, and at fifth in the standings, Jokic and his Nuggets could very well be a major threat. As it currently stands, the Dallas Mavericks are poised to meet Denver in the first round.

The Nuggets will surely hope that Jokic can keep that same momentum he has come playoff time. Fortunately, he has shown no signs of slowing down any time soon.
