All-Star center Nikola Jokic lifted the Denver Nuggets past the Dallas Mavericks with a game-winner on Thursday in front of a raucous Mile High crowd.

The Serbian sensation converted on a push shot near the free-throw circle against the outstretched arms of Dwight Powell.

Jokic's heroics spoiled the huge poster slam in clutch courtesy of the Mavs' wonderboy in Luka Doncic. The Rookie of the Year award frontrunner took matters into his own hands and threw down a massive one in front of Paul Millsap and Mason Plumlee with five seconds remaining.

It was a low-scoring affair for both teams that saw Millsap top-score with 33 points to go along with eight rebounds and three assists. Jokic was quiet with only 11 points to his name, but made up for it in the rebounding and assists department with 14 and eight, respectively.

Meanwhile, Doncic was one-assist shy of another triple-double. He also had 24 points, 11 rebounds, and two steals. Jalen Brunson continues to be a pleasant surprise for the Mavs as he registered 20 points, five rebounds, and four assists on the night.

The Nuggets inch one game closer to the Western Conference's top seed — the Golden State Warriors. Dallas falls further near the bottom of the West standings with the lowly Phoenix Suns as the only team behind the Mavs.
