If you've never played Daggerfall before, here's your chance to finally experience a classic Elder Scrolls game.

Bethesda recently launched four classic games on Steam. Two of these games are currently free to play and players might want to act quickly before Bethesda puts a price tag.

Here’s a full list of Elder Scrolls games and their prices now available on Steam:

  • The Elder Scrolls: Arena (Free)
  • The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall (Free)
  • An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire ($5)
  • The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard ($5)

Honestly, it doesn’t matter if the spinoff titles have a price tag on them – what matters is that the first two mainline games are offered for free. What players should really be eyeing out for are the two main titles Arena and Daggerfall. Luckily for us, these two games are currently free of charge, but we don’t know for how long. We’re guessing that Bethesda is making these games free for now as a housewarming gift for immigrating to Steam – which comes after Bethesda announced their closure of the Bethesda Launcher. We wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to add a pay wall later down the line.

This franchise is Bethesda’s most popular and the first title they ever released. Dated all the way back in 1994, Arena was the first title in the franchise to come out. Since then we’ve seen 4 more titles in the main franchise come out, having Skyrim as the most popular of them all. Skyrim, the fifth title in the series, is the title that put the franchise on the general mainstream, satisfying both old and new players. Seeing as how there were many new players that came along, the majority of them became curious about what previous titles were like. Because the first two Elder Scrolls main titles are free on Steam, new players can now visit the franchise’s roots.
