With the benefit of hindsight, Indiana Pacers president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard looks like a genius these days. Pritchard was a prime target of mockery back in the summer when he decided to pull the trigger on a trade that sent then-face of the Pacers franchise Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.

It was a move that many viewed left the Pacers vastly shortchanged. A few months later, that no longer seems to be the case. Victor Oladipo is playing like an All-Star, while Sabonis is close to being a double-double machine. George, on the other hand, remains a great player with the Thunder, but OKC is just not having much success.

Expected to regress and fall out of the playoff picture prior to this season, the Pacers are currently fifth in the Eastern Conference standings with a 16-12 record.

Although the Pacers lost to the Thunder on Wednesday, that doesn’t change the fact that Indiana has improved and even owns a better record than the Thunder.

In a “Who’s laughing now” move, Kevin Pritchard decided to like some of the tweets critical of him right after the controversial trade was announced.

Pritchard should only hope that his liking spree didn’t come too early, as the NBA season hasn’t even reached the halfway mark yet, meaning the Pacers could still collapse and the Thunder have plenty of time to turn their ship around. In any case, Pritchard has made his point.
