Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo will make his first appearance in 371 days on Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls.

Oladipo has not played in an NBA game since Jan. 23, 2019, when he suffered a ruptured quad tendon in his knee. Though Oladipo is set to make a triumphant return, the Pacers will still exhibit caution with respect to his health.

Scott Agness of The Athletic reports Oladipo will not play in back-to-backs this season, though the Pacers only have three sets remaining:

It only makes sense for the Pacers to ease Oladipo back into the flow of things, especially considering they have had their fair share of success even without him on the floor.

The 27-year-old emerged as an All-Star guard for the Pacers after being traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder as part of the Paul George swap back in 2017.

Oladipo had the best season of his career during the 2017-18 campaign, averaging a career-high 23.1 points to go along with 5.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. He also led the NBA with 2.4 steals per game.

Though Oladipo's offensive efficiency took a slight hit during the 2018-19 season, he became Indiana's best playmaker. The Pacers went 32-15 with Oladipo on the floor, but they stumbled to the finish, going just 16-19 in his absence before being swept out of the playoffs by the Boston Celtics.

The additions of Malcolm Brogdon, T.J. Warren and Lamb have paid big dividends for this year's Indiana squad, not to mention the superb play of likely All-Star Domantas Sabonis.

Indiana (30-17) enters Wednesday night's contest as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, but they are just three games back of the Toronto Raptors for the second spot.

Oladipo might be the final piece to the puzzle as the Pacers look to navigate a crowded playoff picture, though they are likely to manage his minutes for the foreseeable future.
