Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones stopped by CBS HQ to discuss his impending free agency. But Jones also commented on the future of one Aaron Rodgers.

The 2020 NFL MVP said following the NFC Championship Game his future was uncertain, prompting a wave of speculation. Rodgers later clarified he sees no reason he will not be in Green Bay in 2021, but added the business of football can throw curveballs.

Jones struck a similar tone Monday, though he made sure to highlight Rodgers' importance to the organization and the impact he has on younger players:

“That’s a future Hall of Famer and means a lot to the organization,” Jones said, via CBS Sports. “He’s a once in a lifetime player. Look what he just did, took us to another NFC Championship Game. That’s the type of player he is. I love A-Rod. He’s great at helping you develop your game in so many areas, not just on the field but off the field as well.

“I don’t see the future and I don’t know how things play out. I know the NFL is a business. I hope he does. That would be pretty cool to see, where he started he finishes and gets to leave on his terms. That would be pretty cool to see.”

Rodgers probably isn't going anywhere this offseason. Packers CEO Mark Murphy all but guaranteed as much. Jones' future is less clear.

The Pro Bowler will be the marquee attraction at the running back position after another 1,000-yard season. Green Bay would assuredly like to keep Jones, but could face cap challenges. The Packers are projected to have the 28th-most cap space, per Over The Cap.

Interestingly, Rodgers' willingness to restructure his contract might be a key to re-signing Jones. In any case, the 26-year-old would love to see A-Rod finish his career in Green Bay.
