The Green Bay Packers made some changes during the NFL offseason. The team brought in a new tight end in Martellus Bennett and to replace Eddie Lacy Green Bay is converting wideout Ty Montgomery to running back.

Although it isn't an easy transition to go from wide receiver to running back, Montgomery seems to have the backing of a superstar in the NFL that has mastered the art of coming out of the backfield. Adrian Peterson of the New Orleans Saints had this to say about the Packers new feature back, via ESPN's Rob Demovsky.

“I see why he was able to come in for Green Bay from the wide receiver position and have the type of season that he had,” Peterson said. “So I expect big things from him. They're good at the running back position in Green Bay.”

Montgomery worked out with the veteran back Peterson during the offseason and apparently impressed the future Hall of Famer. The Packers new starting running back wasn't the only young player to work out with Peterson as a few other promising young backs also put in some time with the veteran.

This young stable of backs could be the future of the position in the NFL. Melvin Gordon of the San Diego Chargers and rookie Joe Mixon of the Cincinnati Bengals are both expected to be starters this season with high expectations.

As for Peterson, the 32-year-old is hoping to resurrect his career playing alongside Drew Brees in New Orleans. The veteran signed a two-year deal with the Saints after spending his first 10 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.
