It seems that every time the Green Bay Packers front office puts out on fire this offseason, another one pops up. With Aaron Rodgers fully back in for the 2021 season, most would assume things would calm down a bit. That's just not going to be the case.

Rodgers' top weapon, Davante Adams has emerged as arguably the best wide receiver in football. With an extension due before Adams can hit free agency, the two sides have hit a snag in negotiations on multiple occasions. On Wednesday, Adams made his point very clear following the first day of training camp with the Packers.

Adams was also asked if he would consider taking a pay cut if it meant Rodgers would stay with the Packers beyond next season. Green Bay has been pushed up against the cap mark this offseason and project to as well going forward. Adams gave a perfect response.

“No, that's not gonna happen … What other profession do you take less than what you have earned? That's not how it works.”

Point taken. Adams had a league high 18 touchdowns in 2020 and chipped in 115 receptions and 1,374 yards as well. He did all of it while only playing in 14 games.

With a lot of uncertainty surrounding Rodgers' future beyond the 2021 season now Adams has been added to that category for the Packers as well. It's hard to argue that Adams wouldn't deserve becoming the highest paid wide receiver in the league and now it's just a waiting game to see if the Packers can get a deal done.
