Already without starting running back Ty Montgomery, who broke his ribs in Thursday night's game, the Green Bay Packers offense lost another key player due to injury.

During the third quarter of the contest, wide receiver Davante Adams took a brutal huge helmet-to-helmet blow from Chicago Bears linebacker Danny Trevathan:

The fourth-year receiver laid motionless on the field after the hit before being carried out on a stretcher. Thankfully, Adams showed signs of movement by giving a thumbs up to the crowd while being carted off the field.

Today, the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Adams was diagnosed with a concussion, but his MRI was luckily clean. Rapoport added that the league is reviewing the hit for a possible suspension.

Later, Adams provided an update on his Twitter account, stating that he's out of the hospital resting at home:

Adams had a breakout campaign in 2016, posting career-highs of 75 receptions, 997 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also scored on Green Bay's opening drive of Thursday's game to give him two receiving touchdowns for the season.

Considering the gravity of the hit taken by Adams, expect the Packers to slowly ease the Fresno State product back into football activities. Luckily, the severity of the injury didn't expand beyond a concussion.
