Green Bay Packers veteran wide receiver Geronimo Allison has spent the last few weeks sidelined with a hamstring injury that he has progressive working his way through.

However, Allison has suffered a set another setback with a groin issue flaring up in practice on Thursday that could potentially lead to him missing Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Mike McCarthy said WR Geronimo Allison sustained a groin injury in practice yesterday, and “we'll see where he is tomorrow.” McCarthy said he feels good about C Corey Linsley's availability for Sunday night at New England. Linsley was added to the injury report Wednesday with a knee issue.

Allison has been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury that he was able to play through last Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams where he made one catch on his only target for 14 receiving yards. Prior to that, he had missed nearly a month of action due to the ailment that flared up after the 22-0 win over the Buffalo Bills where he posted season highs with six receptions for 80 receiving yards.

The 24-year-old had shown some notable improvements in his performance on the field in his third year in the league, but that has been slowed dramatically by injury. His play has provide much-needed production at the wide receiver position while had become a reliable red zone threat for star quarterback Aaron Rodgers to depend on. Allison currently has 20 catches on 30 targets for 303 receiving yards and two touchdowns in five games played.

Ultimately, these next couple of days will be indicative of his status for Sunday's game against the Patriots. The Packers are one of the few teams in the NFL that conducts practice on Saturday where he will have final injury designation prior to the contest.
