The NFL Combine is now in full swing. Recent reports have said that the Green Bay Packers are among teams meeting with former Stanford running back Bryce Love. According to Dan Parr of NFL.com, the Packers, along with the Eagles and Bills, have spoken with the injured Love.

Love was the Heisman runner-up in 2017, but his production took a step back during his senior year in 2018, and his season ended with a torn ACL in Stanford's final regular season game.

The running back hopes to be back in action by the middle of training camp.

Via Parr:

“I'm far along,” he said during a Thursday press conference. “Everybody says they're ahead of the game, but in my mind, I truly am. I feel great. I'm excited about where I am.”

During Love's breakout junior year, he set school records with 2,118 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also averaged 8.1 yards per carry. However, in his disappointing 2018 he ran for only 739 yards, averaged only 4.5 yards per carry, and scored only six touchdowns.

Despite the down year, NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks ranked Love the fifth-best running back in this year's class.

Love would make for a curious fit on the Packers. They appear to be set at the position, with mainstays Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams expected to return next season.

However, Love could fall into the second or third round. His value later in the draft could be too much to pass up on, and he would provide necessary insurance at running back for Green Bay.
