NFL fans have much reason to rejoice with the start of the regular season just a week away. Players are just as psyched to return to the field, but it seems that two receivers from from the Green Bay Packers are having more fun in the waning days of the offseason than most.

Wide receivers Jordy Nelson and Jeff Janis switched jerseys during the final day of the Packers' public practice in training camp, much to the brief confusion and delight of the Cheeseheads in attendance:

Wes Hodkiewicz of Packers.com elaborated further as to why the two wideouts pulled off this stunt, and it was Janis who provided a rather hilarious explanation:

“Just having a little bit of fun… I kind of wanted to raise my awareness level on Madden so I switched jerseys with Jordy. He wanted to raise his speed level up a little bit so he wore my jersey.”

That's a mighty fine reason for Janis indeed, especially since he has a mere overall player rating of 68 compared to Nelson's 91 in this year's installment of the famed NFL video game franchise. In real-life football, however, perhaps this was a crafty plan for Jeff to have some of Jordy's evident talent and popularity rub off on him, even if just for a day.

There are smiles aplenty in Green Bay right now ,and the team has every right to be in high spirits. The Packers are aiming for a playoff berth for the ninth consecutive season, and they're one of the heavy favorites to win the NFC (per oddsshark.com) considering they've reached the Conference Championship Game twice over the last three years.
