Mike Daniels has been one of the cornerstones for the Green Bay Packers' defense for a few years now. He is one of the most underrated defensive linemen in the NFL and the Green Bay defense simply isn't the same when he isn't on the field. Unfortunately, the Packers may have to get used to that.

According to a report from Ryan Wood of the Journal Sentinel, Daniels could be forced to miss the remainder of the 2018 NFL season due to injury.

In the article, quotes from Daniels were shared talking about the injury and how he feels moving forward. He opened up the quotes stating how he didn't think the injury was anything serious when it originally happened.

“That’s not the first time I limped off to the sideline before. And after I got checked, I tried to stand up, but couldn’t stand up. And that’s when I knew it was pretty serious.”

He went on to make it clear that he wants to return to the team as soon as he possibly can.

“Obviously I want to come back as soon as possible, but that’s not realistic. I’m just taking the rehab one day at a time and stepping up my leadership, being there for the young guys and trying to give them tips and some nuggets, some good technical advice. Because we need guys to step up, and they’re going to step up.”

Throughout the 2018 NFL season thus far, Daniels has racked up 18 tackles to go along with two sacks and a defended pass. Last year with the Packers, Daniels had 49 tackles, five sacks, and a forced fumble.

Green Bay has a huge game on Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings. At 4-5-1, if they end up losing, their season is practically over. On the other hand, of they win out they still have a chance.

Expect to see the Packers handle the loss of Daniels well. They have weathered some major injury issues over the last few years and this is not going to be a death penalty for them.
