Geronimo Allison may not be viewed as one of the most important members of the Green Bay Packers' offense. He began the season as the Packers' No. 3 receiver behind Davante Adams and Randall Cobb, but has quickly disappeared due to injuries and the emergence of Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown.

Despite him not having a big name, Allison is a very talented receiver. Unfortunately, it sounds like the Packers are going to be without their wide receiver for quite some time.

According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel,  Allison is expected to undergo surgery after suffering another injury [h/t Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk].

Green Bay has been struggling this season and following their loss to the New England Patriots are just 3-4-1. That record is going to make things difficult on them coming down the stretch of the season. The NFC playoff picture is not an easy one, which could come back to haunt the Packers for their early-season struggles.

Throughout the five games that he has been able to play in this season, Allison has caught 20 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns. His numbers show that he is more than capable of producing good numbers when he is able to stay on the field.

At 24 years old, Allison is in his third season with the Packers. Aaron Rodgers has a lot of chemistry with him and it obvious that he trusts his 6-foot-3 receiver.

Hopefully, the injury will not keep Allison out too terribly long. Green Bay seems to be content with Adams, Cobb, and Valdes-Scantling as their top three targets, but Rodgers can never have too much talent to work with.

Expect to see Allison attack his rehab process in an attempt to come back for the stretch run. If he is unable to do so, the Packers' offense will suffer a disappointing loss, even with the young receivers stepping up.
