It looks like Aaron Rodgers isn’t ready to give up his spot as the Green Bay Packers starting quarterback

Just 24 seconds after making a pass to Davante Adams for a 24-yard touchdown, Rodgers was at it again, this time connecting with wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling for a 45-yard touchdown to give Green Bay a 22-7 lead with 14 seconds left before halftime in their first game of the season against the Minnesota Vikings.

In just two quarters, the two-time NFL MVP already has already passed for 201 yards an two touchdowns while making 19 of 28 passes for a passer rating of 112.4. It remains to be seen if the 36-year old Rodgers can maintain his blistering start in the second half against the Vikings, but it appears that he is on a mission to prove that he can still play at a high level and is still among the league's best quarterbacks.

This comes after the Packers drafted quarterback Jordan Love with the 26th overall pick out of Utah State in the 2020 NFL Draft, with the rookie seen as a potential replacement in the future for Rodgers, who won the Super Bowl and the Super Bowl Finals MVP in 2010.

Rodgers, who admitted that he was surprised and wasn’t thrilled at all with the Packers’ draft pick earlier this year, is playing in his 16th season for Green Bay after leading the team to a 13-3 record and the first place in the NFC North division last season. The Packers’ season, however, came to an end in the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers, who soundly defeated them, 37-20.
