The Carolina Panthers have suffered through another tough season in 2019, and will once again be on the outside looking in during the playoffs. However, that hasn’t stopped tight end Greg Olsen from setting goals for next season, including being back with the Panthers when the 2020 NFL season begins.

Speaking to the media (via The Associated Press’ Steve Reed), Olsen said that he would like to return to the Panthers next season, but also understands that it’s not entirely his decision to make. According to Olsen, however, he still believes he can play at a high level, and would like to play next season in general.

After injury plagued seasons in 2017 and 2018, Olsen has put up a fairly productive season in 2019. He’s hauled in 48 receptions for 552 yards, and while he only has two touchdowns, he’s already played in more games this season than either of the last two. Olsen is also averaging over 10 yards per reception once again, a feat he continues to accomplish throughout most of his career.

With quarterback Cam Newton out, Olsen has had to play most of his snaps with Kyle Allen, who has taken a turn for the worse recently and might have hurt some of Olsen's stats. Thanks to a couple of injuries as well, Olsen hasn’t been able to play in the last two Panthers games.

While it’s unknown if he’ll play again this season, it seems pretty certain that Olsen will be back in the NFL next year, although for which team currently remains a mystery.
