The Carolina Panthers have been without the services of Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen for the last several weeks due to a foot injury that suffered in Week 2. Luckily for those in the fan base, he is nearing his full return.

With the Panthers on a bye, Olsen took up broadcast duties covering the Minnesota Vikings take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon. It was there he revealed that he will begin practicing on Monday, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Olsen said during the FOX pregame show that he’ll return to practice on Monday, with an expectation of playing the Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

He had become eligible to return to action from the injured reserve last week from his foot injury. The fact that he will be back in practice is a clear indication that he should be on track to be back on the field possibly as early as Week 12 on the road against the New York Jets.

Olsen's return could provide a huge boost to the offense as he has proven to be one of Cam Newton's favorite targets in the passing game over the last few seasons. Given the trade of Kelvin Benjamin to the Buffalo Bills and the injury to Curtis Samuel, it should put him in line to be a heavily used when he is back in the mix.

Ultimately, there should be more clarity once he gets a few practices under his belt this week ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets.
