New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick knew his team got an assist from lady luck on Sunday after the shorthanded road win against the Houston Texans. Due to injuries and health and safety protocols, the Pats came into Houston a few men down but the squad pulled through with a huge comeback win to keep their road record unblemished at 2-0.

Belichick had to field four backup offensive linemen as his main O-line was sidelined for the game. Left tackle Isaiah Wynn, left guard Mike Onwenu, right guard Shaq Mason, and right tackle Trent Brown were all unavailable which made things extra tough for QB Mac Jones and the rest of New England's offense.

When asked when the last time he played with four backup O-linemen, the iconic mentor had to throw it back to the replacement games during the 1987 NFL season which, according to him, doesn't even count.

“But you can't even count that. So, no.” Belichick said (via Zack Cox of NESN).

It was a rough start for the visiting Pats as the home team controlled the game from the start. New England came into the fourth quarter down 22-15 but found ways to find their mark thanks to another impressive game from their rookie signal-caller. Jones threw a TD to tie the game at 22-22 with around nine minutes remaining before Nick Folk sealed the victory with a 21-yard FG with just 15 seconds left.

Belichick and his Patriots will have a week to prepare (and rest) for their next game as they host the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday at the Gilette Stadium.
