A lot of question marks surrounded quarterback Cam Newton and the New England Patriots after he was suddenly made Tom Brady's successor by the team. Nearing the end of his first training camp with the Patriots, Newton overcame all the doubts and successfully secured the QB1 position heading into the upcoming season. Amidst all the uncertainty, it seems like everything is going fine in Foxborough after all.

The 2015 NFL MVP revealed his real feelings towards the situation with him on the Patriots:

“Honestly, it’s been a match made in heaven for me just knowing I am at a place where everything is pulling in the same direction and everything is geared towards winning,” Newton said. “Coming from a person that has won at all levels, I feel as if that if I do the things the right way, trusting the same people who have gotten me to this point and trust their coaching, I think this is something that when you look at an opportunity in a timely manner, it can be accomplished.”

Cam Newton is looking to make the most out of his one-year ‘prove it' deal in the upcoming season. He is eager to show the rest of the league what he is still capable of doing even after the sustained injuries.

However, he is welcomed with a daunting task to fill in the big shoes left by long-time playmaker Tom Brady. With a shortened offseason and the cancellation of preseason games, everything seemed harder for a newcomer like Newton.

As it stands today, it looks like the three-time Pro Bowler is fitting right in with his new team. All eyes will be on Newton as he tries to lead the Patriots to defend their AFC East crown for the 12th straight season. It's a new chapter for the storied franchise.
