The 2018 NFL season was a rather successful one for New England Patriots running back James White. Regardless, he is just looking for ways to improve ahead of the 2019 NFL season.

White is coming off the best year of his career in Naw England. According to Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal, he is still hoping to kick things up a notch next season:

“Well, even though you have some success, there’s still plenty of mistakes that you make out there so there’s always room for improvement,” White said. “Always ways to get better. Always more yards to get. So, getting in with the coaches, see what you can improve and find ways to get better — whether it’s running better routes, having no drops or making better run reads. There’s always little things you can improve on.”

It is encouraging to see that White is not ready to settle on his merits just yet. He has been a part of the Patriots' backfield since 2014 and has seen his fair share of talent come and go in the backfield. Despite dealing with his fair share of struggles with the Patriots, he finally emerged as an integral part of their offense last season.

White had long served as the go-to passing option in the backfield. Although New England took running back Sony Michel in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, he was still able to etch out his own role on offense by setting two Patriots running back records with 87 receptions and 751 receiving yards in the 2018 campaign. He will need to find a way to do the same now that New England drafted another running back in Damien Harris.
