Patriots WR Julian Edelman shares his thoughts on NFL’s best receivers
There are certainly of terrific wide receivers in the NFL right now, and as a result, it’s hard to come up with a real, concrete list of who is the best in the league.
New England Patriots wide out Julian Edelman acknowledged all of the current talent at his position, but there are a few wide receivers he thinks stand out from the pack.
“There’s a few guys,” Edelman said during an interview on Hot 97. “(Odell Beckham Jr. is) up there. I would put AB (Antonio Brown) in there. AB’s a beast, and to watch how he works, I appreciate that. I see him on Instagram and stuff. He motivates me with the way he works. Julio (Jones) is outstanding, up there. Those are some of the guys that are doing it well. I think (Adam) Thielen’s pretty good. He’s been putting up some stats. I put on his routes and he runs good routes. He’s savvy with what he’s doing. Everyone’s good in this league, and I would say some of those guys that I named are close to the top.”
Beckham, Brown, and Jones are all consensus picks by many, but Thielen is definitely one who would not have been mentioned before back-to-back outstanding seasons in 2017 and 2018.
Thielen is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 113 receptions for 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns.
Of course, there are plenty other names who deserve a mention, such as DeAndre Hopkins, Davante Adams, Michael Thomas, and Mike Evans. Heck, Edelman himself is pretty darn good.
Basically, the NFL is in a great space right now when it comes to wide receivers.
