The Cleveland Browns have made the decision to finally move on from star wide receiver Josh Gordon in a trade to the New England Patriots on Monday afternoon.

Much of the dialogue had been centered on him suffering a hamstring injury during a photo shoot that was part of the reason why the Browns chose to trade him just two games in the season. According to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, the MRI on Gordon's hamstring didn't show any issues that may put him in play to take the field for Week 3 action with the Patriots on the road against the Detroit Lions.

This now sweetens the deal a bit for the Patriots as Gordon could be in line to take the field as long as the team feels confident that he has a solid understanding of the playbook in his brief time this week. These next several days will also provide him a chance to show that he isn't hindered physically by any means on the practice field while he picks up the offensive scheme.

The addition of Gordon could have a tremendous impact on the passing game as he has previously shown that he can be a legitimate No.1 wideout. It has simply been his poor decision making off the field that has prevented him from stringing together more highly productive campaigns to establish himself as one of the premier talents in the league.

He had demonstarted his big-play ability in his brief action in the season opener with an impressive 17-yard touchdown reception that tied the game in the fourth quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Simply put, Gordon has an opportunity in front of him to get plenty more balls thrown in his direction as the clear-cut top wide receiver in a group that features Chris Hogan, Philip Dorsett, and Cordarrelle Patterson.
