The New England Patriots are fresh off their dominant 33-0 victory over the New York Jets in Week 7. It appears they remained busy well after the game was over.

According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Patriots have acquired Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Mohamed Sanu in exchange for a second-round pick.

Another trade: Falcons are sending WR Mohamed Sanu to the New England Patriots in exchange for a second-round pick, league sources tell ESPN.

This is certainly a solid move for New England. It is no secret that they have struggled to shore up some depth in the receiving corps during the 2019 NFL season. Safe to say that they were adamant amount providing quarterback Tom Brady with another weapon to work with in the passing game.

Sanu has spent the last four seasons largely serving as a complementary option in Atlanta alongside wide receiver Julio Jones. He was in the midst of another modest 2019 campaign after hauling in 33 receptions for 313 yards and a touchdown through the first seven games. The veteran experienced a decrease in looks in recent weeks as a part of an offense with no shortage of firepower.

Regardless, Sanu will now have an opportunity to potentially etch out an integral role for himself with the Patriots. It may take him some time to earn Brady's trust as a viable option in the passing game, however, there is good reason to be optimistic given his track record as a sure-handed receiver.

With New England's defense clicking on all cylinders, the time has come for the offense to get locked and loaded for the rest of the season.
