The New England Patriots lost to the Miami Dolphins in their Week 18 season finale. One of the big storylines that emerged from the game was the health of defensive tackle Christian Barmore, who sustained a knee injury late in the loss to Miami. However, the Patriots received a positive update on Barmore's injury ahead of their playoff opener against the Buffalo Bills.

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the MRI came back clean on Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore. Barmore sustained the knee injury late in the fourth quarter on a third down play while in pursuit of Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

The Alabama product couldn't put any weight on his right leg as he was helped off the field, though this update on Barmore is about as good as the Patriots and their fans could have hoped for, given how the injury looked.

Barmore, a second-round pick out of Alabama, has appeared in every game for the Patriots this season while totaling 46 combined tackles as well as a sack-and-a-half in a successful rookie campaign.

As Rapoport noted, it remains to be seen what Barmore will be able to do at practice. However, for now, the Patriots defense dodged an injury bullet ahead of the playoffs.
