The New England Patriots are hosting Dontrelle Inman as they try to get some more wide receiver depth on their team, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Inman has bounced around the league, but he did find some success last year with the Indianapolis Colts, starting four games and bringing in 28 catches for 304 yards and three touchdowns. It seemed he and Andrew Luck were on the same page and Luck looked his way plenty and he even caught one of his touchdowns in the playoffs in a big-time spot.

After the season ended, Inman said that he would love to end his career with the Colts, but it appears they didn't have interest in bringing him back.

“I definitely want to stay in Indianapolis,” veteran wideout Dontrelle Inman to Tax and The Moose of CBS Sports Radio, per USA Today. “I don't want to go anywhere else. I'm a little older in my career. It feels good to just be home, and it would feel amazing to finish in Indy.”

The Patriots have Julian Edelman, Phillip Dorsett, and N'Keal Harry as the top three wideouts on their roster, as well as veteran Demaryius Thomas who is coming off of a torn Achilles. After that, it's a lot of question marks and there is no doubt that if the team decides to sign him, he would be another good target for Tom Brady to throw to.

If he was signed, that wouldn't guarantee him a spot on the roster for this upcoming season, but with a good offseason, it would be hard for the team to not keep him on the final 53.
