The New England Patriots are once again coming off of a Super Bowl-winning season with the heralded AFC East franchise currently gearing up for the 2019 campaign. With New England recently winning the team's second Super Bowl in the last three seasons and the team's third in the previous five, the Patriots could very well contend once again in 2019.

With the Patriots slated to encounter at least one tough stretch during the upcoming season, New England is one of eight NFL franchises scheduled to play three consecutive divisional games, which came to light this past week as the league officially released its 2019 schedule.

As the Patriots take on the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills between Week 2 and Week 4, New England is one of six teams that will play three straight divisional games without a bye breaking up such a slate. With the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Redskins and Green Bay Packers joining the Patriots in this category, both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Chargers will accomplish the same feat with a bye week sandwiched into the mix.

Although the Jets will surely be much improved going forward, both the Bills and Dolphins appear to be on a swift decline and won't cause any trouble for New England in 2019. With the AFC East race slated to encounter a two-team battle, the Patriots and Jets will first test the waters in Week 2 while their second matchup of the season will come in Week 7.
