While New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, there were no other positive Patriots tests as of Saturday night. New England had a virtual teem meeting and players were told that the current plan is to play the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night, assuming there are no other positive tests, according to Diana Russini of ESPN.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport provided an update on testing Sunday morning:

The Patriots-Chiefs game was originally scheduled to take place on Sunday night. However, the NFL postponed the game after a couple of positive tests returned from both sides on Saturday morning. Shortly after the announcement of Newton's positive test, the Chiefs revealed that practice squad quarterback Jordan Ta'amu also tested positive for COVID-19.

So far, the NFL has yet to set an exact date and time for the resumption of the game until the rest of the test results come in.

If this game does indeed go on, the Patriots face a new challenge of filling in the void for Cam Newton. The 31-year-old had been playing well to start the season, with New England holding a 2-1 record. 34-year-old Brian Hoyer is slated to serve as the starting quarterback until Newton recovers.

Elsewhere, the Tennessee Titans are dealing with a serious coronavirus outbreak that could put their Week 5 matchup against the Buffalo Bills in jeopardy. The Titans are under investigation for possible protocol violations.

Many are suggesting the NFL do away with the soft bubble and start putting the players and their respective staff in a remote location if they want to prevent a full blown outbreak within the league. If there's any good news here, it's that there have been no other positives tests around the NFL outside of the Titans, Patriots and Chiefs.
